Jonathan Owens and Simone Biles, one of sports’ power couples, recently had a laugh-worthy moment thanks to one of their French Bulldogs.

The celebrated gymnast, married to Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens, posted a lighthearted Instagram story this week showing their dog with a chew toy-next to it lay the remnants of an orange Gia Borghini x RHW sandal, once priced at $858.

Biles wrote alongside the image:

“He’s never chewed on a shoe before. but he seems damn proud about his first.”

It was clear from her tone that the pup’s pride was endearing, not infuriating. This doggo milestone became a viral snapshot of everyday life inside their household, reminding fans that even Olympic champions and NFL players experience pet mischief.

Their family includes two affectionate French Bulldogs, Rambo, adopted in 2020, and Lilo, brought home in 2018. Biles has described them as her “constant companions,” noting that growing up around German shepherds shaped her love for dogs early on.

These pups offer more than cuddles; they serve as emotional anchors. Biles told Healthline:

“Lilo and Rambo do such a great job of keeping me grounded and bringing me comfort, especially during stressful times. They’re always excited to see me and are always there for me no matter what.”

That reassurance has accompanied her through much: moving into their new Texas home in April, building a dedicated dog room, and navigating life in the public eye.

The bond between pet and parents

Beyond providing stability, the dogs have woven into the couple’s lifestyle. Biles went viral when canine cutouts, representing Rambo and Lilo, appeared in the crowd during her balance-beam bronze medal win, cheers orchestrated by fans and loved ones.

And not just watches, they’ve rooted for Owens, too, with pictures circulating of the pups decked out in Packers gear, Owens’ former team, as he took the field

Pets aren’t merely accessories in this household; they’re family. Biles once reflected on her emotional journey during and after the Tokyo Olympics:

“Being an elite athlete puts a lot of stress and pressure on you, and I got Lilo and Rambo for emotional support and to be a companion through all of my ups and downs”.
