Footage of a teenage Jayden Daniels declaring he will be famous in the future has gone viral just hours after the 24-year-old rookie quarterback booked himself and the Washington Commanders a spot in the NFC Conference Championship game.
A phenomenal performance saw the team throw the betting odds out of the window as they crushed the Detroit Lions’ dreams in a stunning 45-31 victory on the road at Ford Field on January 18.
Daniels made 299 passing yards for two touchdowns in the contest on Saturday, rising up to the pressure of the moment whilst the experienced 30-year-old quarterback, Jared Goff, crumbled on the opposing side.
That means the Commanders are now into the championship game for the first time since 1991 and all anyone is talking about is how this rookie QB is defying all expectations and ripping up the script.
But it’s no news to him. An old tweet from a 13-year-old Daniels telling everyone he knows his destiny has surfaced, as he proves he can put his money where his mouth is by backing up his words.
“One day you guys gonna hear my name everywhere,” Daniels posted to X.com, then known as Twitter, in July 2014. At the time he was studying at Cajon High School in San Bernadino County in California.

Daniels’ meteoric rise
The Heisman Trophy winner then went to play for the Arizona State Sun Devils and LSU Tigers before being selected into the NFL by the Commanders, as the overall second-pick behind the Chicago Bears’ Caleb Williams.
Now he’s putting together one of the finest rookie seasons in the history of the NFL. Passing for 3568 yards (69%) and 25 touchdowns, the 24-year-old is a Pro Bowler and is now into the NFC Conference Championship game.
He will take on either the Philadelphia Eagles or the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, January 26. The Commanders will be on the road, no matter which team wins to the honor of facing them.
