Jaxson Dart has proven he’s built tough-and it clearly runs in the family. The New York Giants rookie credits his grit and fearless approach to his father, Brandon Dart. But Dart Sr. isn’t one to sit quietly when the media takes shots at his family, as he recently made clear.

Since his college days, Jaxson has shown he doesn’t shy away from challenges-on or off the field. During his first NFL preseason, he proved he’s not afraid to take a hit, even one that momentarily knocked the wind out of him, as happened last Thursday against the New England Patriots.

In that game, which the Giants won 42-10, Dart scrambled to salvage a broken play. After gaining about 20 yards, he was leveled by linebacker Jack Gibbens. But the hit didn’t shake him-and that “dog in him” mentality? It’s inherited from his father.

Brandon Dart responds to the media

After the play against New England, CBS Sports analyst Chris Trapasso joked, “Jaxson Dart looks like the antagonist in a high school football movie, who we come to find out is actually nice but just has a miserable, hard-ass dad at home.” Brandon Dart wasn’t laughing.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the rookie’s father clapped back:

“I’m far from miserable, but I’m hard-ass, and that’ll never change. Dartsarentsoft!”

The message was loud and clear: toughness is a family trait, and Brandon Dart isn’t backing down.

Diesel Dart is following in his brother’s footsteps

If anyone doubted that grit runs in the Dart bloodline, Jaxson’s younger brother, Diesel, is making sure they don’t anymore. The high school standout is already turning heads with the same relentless attitude that helped Jaxson reach the NFL.

Diesel isn’t just a cornerback/receiver at Corner Canyon High School-he’s a rising star in the Class of 2027. With offers from Arizona, Ole Miss, San Diego State, BYU, Auburn, UNLV, and more expected in the coming years, Diesel is proving that toughness isn’t just a trait-it’s a legacy.
