There is no doubt that New York Giants fans are excited again after a fantastic preseason by rookie Jaxson Dart, who was selected in the first round of the past Draft, becoming the true project of Brian Daboll as Head Coach and Joe Schoen as General Manager.
Remember that when Daboll and Schoen took those positions three years ago, the quarterback was Daniel Jones. That 2022 season was fantastic – they made the playoffs and even won a game. It was thought that Jones was the quarterback of the future, and he was given a four-year extension, but he turned out to be a complete disappointment.
It was believed that the Daboll-Schoen project was coming to an end, but they were given the chance to choose their own quarterback. That’s why they drafted Jaxson Dart, and their ability to keep their jobs next season depends on how successful the Ole Miss product can be.

Although the excitement around Jaxson Dart is sky-high, Brian Daboll has said that his starting quarterback for the beginning of the season will be Russell Wilson – especially considering the difficult opening schedule the Giants face: Commanders, Cowboys, Chiefs, and Chargers, just to start.
Kurt Benkert, a former NFL quarterback, posted on his X account that after analyzing the situation, Jaxson Dart should be the Giants’ starter from Day 1.
Many people agree with him. However, Daboll has already named Russell Wilson as the starter. Still, the pressure will be heavy on the veteran, because at the first sign of decline, New York Giants fans will push to see Jaxson Dart under center – and that could happen at any point during the season.
