Cardi B has never been shy about surprising fans, and her latest announcement might be the biggest one yet. The Grammy-winning rapper revealed this week that she is pregnant, confirming the news in an Instagram video and again during an appearance on CBS Mornings.

The father of the baby is New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs, making the couple an instant headline across both music and sports. Cardi told viewers she felt “powerful” balancing her career and pregnancy at the same time.

But while the reveal drew plenty of excitement, it also raised questions-especially from Mariah Rose, daughter of former NBA star and ESPN analyst Jalen Rose.

Mariah Rose: “I’m scared for Cardi B”

Mariah shared her reaction on Instagram, posting a video on her “Hoops for Hotties” page. In it, she pointed to an old locker room clip where Diggs’ teammates were asked which player they’d least want dating their sister. Nearly every answer pointed to Diggs.

“I am so scared for Cardi B y’all,” she said. “Every time I see Stefon Diggs, I think about that video… and every last one of them said him. Oh hell no, let’s go back to COVID, get six feet back.”

Her post quickly gained traction online, as fans began debating whether Diggs’ past reputation could affect his new relationship.

Diggs keeps quiet amid spotlight

Before the Patriots’ game against the Steelers, Diggs was asked directly about Cardi B’s pregnancy. He didn’t give much away. “I won’t talk too much about my personal life but I heard about it,” he told reporters.

This isn’t the first time Diggs has faced questions off the field. Earlier this year, he was named in a paternity suit by model Lord Gisselle, who claimed he fathered her young child. Diggs has not responded publicly to the lawsuit.

A relationship under pressure

For Cardi B, who often blends honesty with humor in public, the news fits her larger-than-life persona. Still, pairing her with one of the NFL’s most polarizing stars has sparked a wave of commentary. Some fans see them as a power couple; others echo Mariah Rose’s warning, posting the “red flags” clip across social media.

With Cardi preparing for a busy tour and Diggs adjusting to life in New England after his trade, the couple will remain firmly in the public eye. And with a baby on the way, the spotlight will only get brighter.
