Jalen Hurts sends a warning message to the Kansas City Chiefs by insisting he isn’t upset by the defeat he suffered in the 2022 Super Bowl, as he prepares for a rematch with Patrick Mahomes on February 9.

The 26-year-old two-time Pro Bowler will take to the field at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans hunting for the first NFL championship of his career, and if he earns it then he will be dealing a slice of cold revenge too.

The last time he appeared in the final game of the season his Eagles were crushed in a heart-breaking fashion by a late Chiefs rally, as Andy Reid‘s side went on to emerge as 38-35 winners in Arizona.

So one of the storylines of the upcoming Super Bowl LIX is whether Nick Sirianni and his side have managed to move past that fateful night at the State Farm Stadium, and the quarterback insists he has.

“I’ve moved on,” Hurts told reporters in the build-up to the contest of Super Bowl LVII; where he produced 304 yards and a touchdown, as well as adding three more rushing touchdowns and 70 yards.

However it wasn’t enough to stop the Mahomes juggernaut as the 29-year-old quarterback responded with a very clinical 182 yards and three touchdowns to emerge as the champion of the 2021/22 NFL season.

Where can the Eagles hurt the Chiefs?

Hurts is now a far more accomplished QB and created 2903 passing yards for 18 touchdowns in 2024/25, adding an extra 630 rushing yards for 14 touchdowns as arguably the best dual-threat in the league alongside Lamar Jackson.

Like the Baltimore Ravens‘ ace, Hurts can also depend on a highly talented running back next to him in the from of Saquon Barkley, who rushed for 2005 yards and 13 touchdowns and added 278 receiving yards for two touchdowns.

However, the Chiefs are ranked ninth in the NFL against the running game, allowing an average of 106.7 yards per game; making it a true “unstoppable force vs immovable object” match up on February 9.
