Tyron Woodley has shared his thoughts on Jake Paul’s upcoming bout with Mike Tyson, describing the matchup as more balanced than many might expect.

The former UFC champion, who faced Paul twice in 2021, noted that with Tyson now at 58, Paul’s youth and energy give him a fair chance in the ring.

Speaking with TMZ Sports, Woodley added that if Tyson were still in his prime, he’d see the fight differently. He also had some criticism for Paul, suggesting that the YouTuber-turned-boxer tends to pick opponents that give him an advantage.

“He’s always in a position where if wins, he goes up and if he loses, it’s like, ‘OK. He took a risk. He took a chance,” Woodley said.

On his own career front, Woodley revealed that he’s gearing up for an MMA return, despite having turned 42 this past April, indicating he’s still driven to compete.

A highly-anticipated bout

Still, Woodley plans to watch the action unfold on November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Paul has predicted a massive crowd of 90,000 at AT&T Stadium for his upcoming fight against Mike Tyson on November 15. However, with less than two weeks to go, it’s unclear if the event will meet those expectations.

Ticket prices for the lowest tiers have recently dropped to $30, leading to some doubt about how large the crowd will actually be for what’s been billed as a high-profile match.

“At this moment, the attendance would fill Dodger Stadium and would be the largest crowd ever to witness a Tyson fight,” Joann Mignano, the boxer’s publicist, told USA TODAY Sports.

Whether the turnout will match Paul’s ambitious forecast remains to be seen.
