Canelo Alvarez had a tumultuous few days last week when his contract with Turki Alalshikh for his next four fights was announced.

When it was expected that his fight against Jake Paul would be announced for May, the Saudi Arabian sheikh appeared in what seemed to be an interference in a pre-agreement.

After the situation has cooled down, Jake Paul’s team appears to speak more clearly and with less offense about the deal they were seeking with Saul Alvarez.

“In the end, it failed because they wanted to do it on PPV at the last minute and we had committed to our distribution partner Netflix. We refused to give in and they refused to give in,” saidNakisa Bidarian, co-founder ofMost Valuable Promotions, Paul’s promoter, toldCNN.

He (Canelo) then got an offer to do another fight and do a four-fight deal with the Saudis and that’s what he chose to do.

Jake Paul also seems to be calmer and now declares in a calmer tone with his ways in the days before.

“It is definitely God’s plan. It’s going to happen and it’s going to be even better for me when it happens. He should have beaten me when I wasn’t as skilled as him,” a more serene Paul admits.
