Jake Paul acknowledges that his upcoming fight against Gervonta “Tank” Davis makes him more nervous than any previous fight. However, the controversial boxer and content creator assured that he has an ace up his sleeve to arrive in his best version: he will train with Shakur Stevenson, one of the most talented and technical pugilists of the moment… and Davis’ historical rival.

Shakur Stevenson, his new ally in the ring

In an interview with TMZ Sports, Paul confirmed that Stevenson – a three-division world champion known for his impeccable defensive style – will join his training camp in the coming days. The idea, according to Jake himself, is to take advantage of the American’s experience to decipher Gervonta Davis’ explosive and aggressive style.

“Shakur has had his differences with Tank over the years, so he knows exactly how to prepare me,” Paul explained. “I will train with him to understand how to neutralize his power.”

In addition to Stevenson, Raymond Ford and Montana Love, both high-level professional boxers, are also helping Paul in his preparation for the big fight on November 14, which will take place at the Kesaya Center.

Jake Paul: “I’m more scared than ever”

Although his training has been intense, Jake Paul does not hide how he feels. “I’m going to be vulnerable for a second,” he said. “Inside, I’m more scared than ever going into a fight. It’s crazy. It keeps me up at night.”

That mix of fear and motivation seems to be Paul’s fuel, as he said he is willing to completely modify his physique for this fight: he will lose muscle mass to gain speed and thus be able to compete with a smaller, but much more fast and technical opponent like Davis.

A fight with a taste of redemption

Jake Paul knows that a win over Gervonta Davis would change his career forever. That’s why he has devised a clear fight plan: “My goal is to take Tank to the knockout, as I have done with other opponents. I’m going to prove a lot of people wrong”.
