Jake Paul‘s road to gaining credibility within the boxing community is headed in the right direction, after the YouTuber turned boxer beat former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in a ten-round battle by unanimous decision.

Paul said after the fight that a battle against professional British boxer Anthony Joshua is looking likely for next year, considering that the bout sounds insane but he wants to embrace the challenge, the hardest one yet in his career if it comes to fruition.

“I’m definitely not a heavyweight, but I’m still gonna take the challenge. You look at Deontay Wilder; he was beating these guys weighing 215 pounds, he’s like 6ft 6in or something, but anything is possible”, stated Jake, who’s still have some doubters and naysayers when it comes to boxing.

From the ring to the swamp, or so it seemed

Right after his latest fight, Jake Paul took to social media – a place he feels comfortable in – and posted a wild video that took his 28.4 million followers by surprise. It also reminded the world that Jake’s still one of the most creative and polarizing figures on the internet.

The clip shows Jake running through the wild trying to catch what appears to be a massive alligator. After surviving ten rounds with Chavez Jr., it looked like he was testing his luck with nature. But fans quickly realized something was off.

It was all a stunt. The alligator wasn’t real, and the chase was part of a creative promo for Jake’s brand, GET W. At the end of the video, the punchline drops, his product is now officially available on Amazon. Jake may be chasing a world title next, but he’s also proving he knows exactly how to keep fans talking outside the ring.

Jake Paul is not one to back down from a big challenge

Jake Paul has successfully leveraged his Internet ubiquity and his own hard work to become a force in the business of boxing, if not in traditionally important bouts.

He has founded a busy promotional company and flirted with mixed martial arts while becoming arguably the most prominent combat sports athlete in the world.

But Paul had mostly fought mixed martial artists and fellow online celebrities, and he took his only loss in February 2023 when he stepped in against actual boxer Tommy Fury, whose fame also exceeds his ring skills.
