Jake Paul fired back at Tommy Fury in a heated exchange that saw the American slam the Brit as a ‘muppet’ for claiming he’d beat him in a fight just days after he pulled out of taking on the UFC’s Darren Till.

Fury was due to take on the one-time welterweight contender on January 18 but backed out after the MMA specialist threatened to kick him in the head, something he later claimed was nothing but a mind game.

Paul, still on the high of beating Mike Tyson, then called him out for a rematch of their 2023 bout, which he lost via split decision, on the condition they do 12 rounds this time.

The half-brother of the ex-heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, then hit back at The Problem Child’s offer by saying he’s happy to hand him a second defeat in his career and said the only time he’s fought a “real” boxer, he lost.

That’s clearly something the 27-year-old didn’t appreciate as he took to social media to slam Fury by claiming his credibility is in the gutter after backing out of a fight for the third time in his professional career, as well as getting personal too.

“What an absolute muppet,” Paul said via X.com, formerly Twitter. “Buddy you just pulled out of a fight for the 3rd time. You have ZERO credibility.

“I offered you $8million (£6.28m) and you ran away from it. And now you got dumped by Molly, getting sued by DAZN and still can’t call a shot without your dad. GTFOH [Get the f**k out of here].”

What happened in Fury vs Paul 1?

The first fight between Fury and Paul took place on February 26, 2023, in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, and saw both opponents exit with positive things to take out of it.

Fury, the professional boxer, showcased superior technical skills and cleaner punches and never really looked trouble and looked a class above with consistent jabs and expert footwork.

That was until the eighth round when his YouTuber-turned-boxer rival, landed a notable knockdown but it wasn’t enough to secure him a victory or draw as Fury won via split decision 76-73, 76-73, 74-75.

Both fighters expressed respect and left open the possibility of a rematch and whilst the rematch seems on, the respect seems to have vanished in the almost two years since that night in the Middle East.
