Sophie Cunningham’s injury marred Indiana Fever‘s overtime victory over Connecticut Sun at Mohegan Sun Arena, 99-93.

With just under eight minutes remaining in the second quarter, the 29-year-old guard fell hard to the floor when Bria Hartley of the Sun collided with her while attempting a pass. Her leg pain was more than evident and frightened her fans.

After the collision, Sophie had to be assisted off the court and was ruled out for the rest of the game.

The team’s silence regarding Cunningham’s condition is causing further concern among Indiana fans, who are beginning to worry.

Team coach Stephanie White also did not comment on her player at the post-game press conference, only saying that Sophie would undergo an MRI on Monday.

However, the hours and days pass and the Fever has not shared any information about their number 8. Although it is unknown whether the team has the results of the test, this uncertainty has left Indiana fans worried.

The silence concerns Fever’s fans

The team’s latest posts on its official Instagram account feature two videos showing the team’s highlights from the victory over Connecticut. However, fans are voicing a strong demand: they want to know about Sophie’s health.

Hope Sofie Is well but this silent about her…..” commented one of them, losing hope.

Every time I see a post from the Fever on Twitter or Instagram, I nervously open it thinking it is an update on Sophie Cunningham. Praying for good news,” admitted another user.

I’d rather have an update on Sophie. Let me guess she’s day to day? Joke of a league and organization,” commented one follower.

Please give us an update on Sophie,” begged another fan.

Praying for Sophie, hope injury not serious,” said another.

Meanwhile, Indiana is preparing to host the league’s current leaders, the Minnesota Lynx, on Friday. Until the Fever provide an update, Cunningham’s status for the next game remains unknown. For now, all we can do is wait.
