Robert Lewandowski was candid about the true potential of FC Barcelona, particularly regarding the team’s chances of conquering the UEFA Champions League.
He addressed the topic during an interview with Romário on the Brazilian legend’s YouTube channel. The Polish striker made it clear that lifting the Champions League trophy is one of the most difficult challenges in football and called for caution when analyzing the Barcelona squad’s ambitions in European competition.
Lewandowski warns how complicated it is to win the Champions League
In a preview of the conversation, Robert Lewandowski insisted that conquering the UEFA Champions League requires maintaining a very high level throughout the entire European tournament.
“Winning the Champions League, of course, is not easy. Even if you think you’re in good form and the team is doing well, there are still many matches left,” explained the Barcelona forward, fully aware of how long and demanding the road to the European title is.
For Lewandowski, the team must focus on getting through each Champions League knockout round before thinking about lifting the trophy. The tie against Newcastle, for example, remains completely open and will force Barça to show their best version at Camp Nou.
The Barcelona striker also made it clear that talking about winning the Champions League title too early makes little sense, since the European competition can change very quickly.
“I think we can talk about winning the Champions League if we’re playing in the semifinals, because before that it doesn’t make sense,” he assured.
The Polish star also reminded fans that in European football, small details often make the difference and that the outlook for a club can change rapidly.
“In football, many things can happen. One week can change a lot,” he emphasized.
