During the summer of 2023, it became known that singer Taylor Swift and the spectacular tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, Travis kelce were dating, which grabbed headlines around the world – and still does to this day. Everything Swift and Kelce do is followed step by step, especially after the singer attended several Chiefs games and Kelce showed up at several of her concerts worldwide.
In the 2023 season, Taylor Swift was present at several Chiefs games, and that year Kansas City managed to reach and win the Super Bowl, which was decided in dramatic fashion against the San Francisco 49ers. In that big NFL game, Kelce recorded 93 receiving yards, many of them in key moments.
However, the 2024 season was the worst in a decade for Travis Kelce. Even though the Chiefs once again made it to the Super Bowl, Kelce finished the season with only 823 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns. It was the first season since 2014 in which Kelce did not surpass the 1,000-yard mark.
What has changed for Travis Kelce since he started dating Taylor Swift?
After last season – and especially due to the criticism he received – there was speculation that Travis Kelce might consider retirement. However, it has been reported that he has lost between 12 and 15 pounds and is now fully focused on winning the Super Bowl in 2025.
So Travis Kelce didn’t hold anything back and recently spoke about what has happened since he started dating singer Taylor Swift.
“It’s just the paparazzi,” Kelce said. “That’s probably the only thing I didn’t really grasp until I was in it. And that’s probably the craziest part. I’m just playing golf and all of a sudden, in the trees, there’s a… guy with a camera. And it’s like… now I have to go to the restroom. I can’t just go over here and take a piss, right?” Kelce said on the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast.
“We’re just having fun, yeah, being a couple, man,” Kelce added. “You know sometimes people say we’re just trying to get attention. But it’s like… we’re just enjoying life and having fun.”
Now, Travis Kelce is fully focused on delivering results in a Chiefs offense that was completely stagnant last season. Even so, they made it to the Super Bowl – but in that game, they were crushed by the Eagles.
