What was meant to be a picture-perfect gameday date turned into a night to forget for Olivia Dunne-and an even worse one for Paul Skenes. Still reeling from LSU’s heartbreaking NCAA gymnastics exit, Dunne headed to Pittsburgh for a little emotional boost-and to cheer on her baseball star boyfriend as the Pirates faced off against the Chicago Cubs.

But instead of a morale-lifting win and a stadium-worthy performance, she witnessed Skenes unravel during one of the toughest outings of his MLB career.

The visit began with high hopes. Dunne took to Instagram flaunting her gameday look: a sleek black crop top, flared jeans, and a breezy caption-“Gameday.” She was seen soaking up the Pittsburgh views, clearly amped to support Skenes as the Pirates entered the matchup as favorites.

The Cubs thrashed Skenes

For four innings, things looked promising. Skenes kept the Cubs scoreless despite early pressure, walking four batters but keeping damage to a minimum. Then came the fifth inning-and with Dunne in the stands, everything fell apart.

Skenes gave up three home runs-something he had never done before in his pro career-and was pulled from the game with the Pirates trailing. The Cubs capitalized on the collapse, cruising to an 8-3 win and handing Skenes a night he’ll want to forget.

Olivia has Paul’s back

While it wasn’t the dream date Dunne had in mind, her support for Skenes remains rock solid. After all, she’s stood by him since day one-back when she called the rising ace simply “cute.”

Even legends in the making have off days, and with Dunne in his corner, Skenes won’t have to face the next one alone.
