The Philadelphia Eagles begin their road back to the Super Bowl after a brilliant 2024 regular season, to the point of entering the playoffs as one of the NFC favorites to return to their second title game in three seasons. Nick Sirianni’s team seems to have fixed all the problems that led to the 2023 season and with the arrival of Saquon Barkley, the ‘Birds’ offense is one of the most complete in the league

However, their first opponent on the road to the title does not seem easy, as they will host at Lincoln Financial Field one of the most difficult teams remaining alive in the season and already has playoff experience, despite being one of the youngest teams in the league, Matt LaFleur’s Green Bay Packers and possibly their quarterback, Jordan Love

The Cheeseheads advanced to the playoffs as the seventh seed, after their last game of the regular season was complicated on Sunday at home against the Chicago Bears. In addition to losing to one of the worst teams in the league 24-22, they lost their star passer Jordan Love to injury with an elbow blow and is still in doubt for the weekend, as well as their main receiver Christian Watson, who suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament and will not return until the 2025 kickoff

However, the Packers are not a one-star team. At the same stage last year, Green Bay became the first seventh-seeded team to win a playoff game, (with the new seven-team format) by overwhelming the Dallas Cowboys at home

However, they lost their last two games of the season to finish the season 11-6. Chicago’s performance could be a cause for concern, as this was the Bears only road win of the season

The Eagles will be able to count on their quarterback Jalen Hurts, who suffered a concussion in week 16 against Washington and has just come out of the concussion protocol after two weeks of rest

This will be the second time the two teams have met this season, after they met in Week 1, in a thrilling game in Brazil, where the Eagles won 34-29, with 132 yards from the line of scrimmage and three total touchdowns from Saquon Barkley in his debut in the ‘Birds’ uniform. Meanwhile, the star wide receiver duo of AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith combined for 12 receptions, 203 yards and one touchdown

Hurts completed 20 of 34 passes for 278 yards and two touchdowns, although he threw two interceptions and fumbled the ball.

For Green Bay, on that occasion, the Eagles’ defense had an inconsistent performance, as they allowed 29 points, 414 total yards and 163 rushing yards to the Packers. However, they did manage to limit their three turnovers to nine points and only allowed the Packers to convert four of 12 first-and-10 attempts on third and fourth down. They also intercepted Love on one occasion
