Billy Horschel surprised everyone when he approached, armed with his golf club, an alligator that had entered the course at PGA National in Florida during the Cognizant Classic.
The golfer helped the alligator leave the course and head for a small lake: “He wasn’t going anywhere good… So I went over there and helped the cop.”

Billy Horschel, who was golf-trained in Florida, has admitted that he has had many encounters with alligators on different golf courses throughout his life.
I never touched an alligator’s tail with my hand, but I did with a stick. It’s no big deal
“I’m not afraid of alligators”, said the American golfer.
“I grew up with my father touching the tails of alligators when they were on the shore and chasing them back into the water,” Horschel explained.
