The Giants were in for a scare when Jung Hoo Lee was detained at Los Angeles airport due to an immigration issue. It was all just an awkward moment for the franchise and for the player as a result of a careless mistake.

Coming from South Korea, the outfielder was on his way to the Giants’ FanFest in San Ramon, California, when he was stopped by immigration officers. At first there was confusion because he is a person with his documentation in order, so there was no reason to think that he should be detained.

Jung Hoo Lee experienced a brief travel inconvenience at Los Angeles Airport due to a documentation issue. The situation was quickly cleared up with the relevant authorities and he has since been allowed to continue with his journey. We appreciate the professionalism of all parties involved

It so happened that the ballplayer forgot one of his entry documents. In other words, routine paperwork. He was either overconfident or careless when it came to storing and carrying his documentation that he did not notice that he was missing one. Finally, after the bitter moment, he was released. The Giants mobilized to help their player, who they will demand not to get on a plane again if he has not checked all his documents in detail.

Boras, the outfielder’s agent, was another who panicked at the news at first. He subsequently stepped in to support the Giants and Nancy Pelosi’s office in managing his client’s release, after it emerged that he did not have a routine piece of paper with him.

The South Korean arrived in San Francisco in 2023 on a six-year, $113 million contract. After suffering a shoulder injury that has intermittently affected his performance, Lee says he is ready for next season and wants to prove that he is worth what they paid for him.
