Towards the tail end of last season, it started becoming clear that there was some tension between Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks. After 12 seasons in which Giannis brought an NBA Championship to the franchise, it looked like it was time to move on for him.
But weeks passed by following the NBA Finals, which turned into months of nothing of note developing on the front of him jetting off for greener pastures. The 2025-26 NBA season is only a couple of weeks away now and Giannis remains with the team, setting him up for a 13th season with the franchise. But will that actually be the case? There’s a certain team that enamors Antetokounmpo and could pry him away from Milwaukee.
New York Knicks are Giannis Antetokounmpo’s preferred destination
It sounds like there are two options for Giannis going forward: stay with the Bucks or leave to join the Knicks. He doesn’t appear to want to entertain other options, but that may change if his relationship with the Milwaukee franchise sours any further.
