New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor had a special moment when he arrived at the stadium for the start of the series against the Seattle Mariners

His daughter Kalina was waiting for him with a camera in hand, ready to photograph her father without him knowing that she would be there. The scene was shared by his wife Katia on social media, moving baseball fans and followers.

An unexpected surprise

Lindor, fresh off a flight from JFK, was heading to the stadium when he saw Kalina waiting for him. “What are you doing here?” he asked in surprise. Kalina captured images of her father getting out of the car, and then they joined in hugs and selfies alongside her younger sister, Poppy.

Katia documents the moment

Lindor’s wife shared the moments before the game in an Instagram story. “Quick stop from JFK to Citi Field to hug our favorite,” she wrote alongside an image of Lindor with his daughters. In another post, they are seen sharing special greetings and loving gestures.

An emotional boost for Lindor

The presence of his daughters seemed to motivate Lindor, who had one of his best games since the All-Star break. He hit two home runs, drove in four runs and scored two more. Although the Mets lost 11-9 to the Mariners, Lindor’s performance was outstanding.

Kalina, near the dugout

It’s not the first time Kalina has accompanied her father at the stadium, but on this occasion she was sitting right next to the dugout. “It was great to have my girls there,” Lindor said. In an earlier game against the Yankees, Lindor handed Kalina a piece of gum after a home run as part of his celebration.

Family as a driving force

Lindor has expressed on several occasions that his family is his greatest source of energy. Despite the team’s struggles, the Mets have lost nine of their last 10 games, the Puerto Rican player remains focused and motivated thanks to the support of Katia, Kalina and Amapola.
