This week, Floyd Mayweather has been in Israel, showing solidarity with those affected by the ongoing conflict with militant groups in Gaza and Lebanon. Among his first visits was to the Belev Echad rehabilitation center, where Israeli soldiers are working to recover from injuries, some of them in wheelchairs or overcoming serious trauma.
This marks Mayweather‘s fourth visit to Israel since the October 7 Hamas attacks and he has backed his support with action. Recently, he donated $100,000 to fund 1,000 bulletproof vests for Israeli emergency responders working in areas hit by rocket attacks. These responders often face immediate danger as they aid civilians in affected zones.
During a luncheon hosted by United Hatzalah, an organization with over 7,000 volunteers providing medical aid amid the conflict, Mayweather was presented with one of the vests his contribution helped supply. This gesture of appreciation highlighted his significant support for the safety of those on the ground.
“It feels like home away from home,” the boxing star said.
“Actions speak louder than words, and I’m here to support in every way I can.
“I’m happy to be here. I see so many bright faces, so many beautiful people. You guys are brave warriors. I take my hat off to everyone in here that goes on that battlefield – everyone who came through in your job, just like I come through in my job.
“You got to be team players and you guys are team players. I’m proud of you all. Hold your head up high. And just know, every day is a blessing. We can’t take nothing for granted. You guys are true heroes. You guys are warriors. And I’m behind you guys 100 percent. I’ll be back because you guys have my support.”
