The FIFA World Cup 2026 Miami Host Committee officially launched ONE GAME ONE FUTURE, a countywide legacy initiative aimed at creating long-term youth development and community impact through soccer. The program debuted on March 7 at North Trail Park in District 12, marking the beginning of a series of community-driven activities leading up to the global tournament.
The activation included a Coaches Education Workshop from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed by a Youth Soccer Clinic from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.. Both sessions focused on using soccer as a platform to develop young athletes while providing local coaches with tools to teach leadership, teamwork, and life skills.
“ONE GAME ONE FUTURE reflects our commitment to building a meaningful and lasting legacy across Miami-Dade County,” said Jennifer Roche, Director of Community and Legacy for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Miami Host Committee. “Through coach education, youth engagement, and integrated community resources, we are using soccer as a platform to empower families, strengthen neighborhoods, and create opportunities for the next generation.”
Developing Youth Through Soccer
The March 7 activation marked the first in a coordinated series of community-based clinics that will take place across Miami-Dade County as part of the ONE GAME ONE FUTURE initiative.
The event opened with a 90-minute Coaches Education Workshop, designed to equip local coaches and recreation leaders with tools to use soccer as a vehicle for mentorship, inclusion, and life-skills development. Later, young participants took the field for a free soccer clinic centered on skill-building, teamwork, and positive mentorship, expanding access to structured play opportunities within the community.
Miami-Dade County Commissioner Juan Carlos “JC” Bermudez, who represents District 12, joined Miami Host Committee leaders to highlight the importance of neighborhood-level programming as the city prepares to host matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
“This initiative reflects our shared commitment to strengthening opportunity at the neighborhood level,” Bermudez said. “By combining sport, education, and health resources, we are investing in our families today while preparing for the global spotlight of the FIFA World Cup 2026.”
The event was organized in collaboration with Fútbol Con Corazón, a nonprofit organization focused on youth development through sport.
“Access to play and the leadership of coaches matter now more than ever,” said Danielle Dubuc Wightman, Executive Director of FCC USA. “Through soccer, we create spaces where children experience belonging, mentorship, and joy. Those experiences help shape young people into healthy, engaged, and productive members of their communities.”
Health and Wellness Integration
The clinic also included a mobile health unit operated by Banyan Community Health, offering free screenings for youth and families. Services included depression screenings, BMI measurements, glucose testing, and additional wellness resources.
By integrating health services directly into youth sports programming, the initiative reinforces its commitment to long-term community wellness alongside athletic development.
Community Partnerships Driving Impact
ONE GAME ONE FUTURE is designed to be inclusive and accessible, supporting youth, families, coaches, and community leaders throughout Miami-Dade County. The program will continue to expand through additional community clinics and partnerships in the months leading up to the tournament.
A Lasting Legacy for Miami
The initiative serves as the foundation of the Miami Host Committee’s legacy strategy for the FIFA World Cup 2026, built around three core pillars:
- Access to Soccer
- Sustainability
- Community Impact
Through youth clinics, coach education, wellness services, and investments in safe spaces for play, the program aims to ensure that the benefits of hosting the FIFA World Cup 2026 extend far beyond the tournament itself.
Additional announcements related to ONE GAME ONE FUTURE and other legacy initiatives will be released in the coming months as Miami continues preparations to welcome the world in 2026.
