Fever’s Sophie Cunningham sends a message to her “haters” in Paris Hilton style

Sophie Cunningham suffered a torn LCM in her right knee and underwent surgery in August, ending her first season with the Indiana Fever.

Over the course of the year, the 29-year-old point guard has won the hearts of Fever and WNBA fans, but there were also those who threw hate at her, and Sophie responded with a video.

Cunningham sends a message to her haters

True to form, the Fever star shared a video with her TikTok followers in which she is seen using a juice box as a microphone, mimicking and lip-syncing Paris Hilton’s iconic rant about Tomorrowland Festival.

“This is dedicated to the haters in the front holding signs up saying I’m not playing live, ’cause honey, yes I f***g am,” Cunningham mouthed. “Sorry I’m a girl, I’m hot, I’m blonde, we can do everything, so put your f***g sign down, and hate on someone else.”

In the video, Sophie added the text “to my haters.” However, her fans showed her even more support in the comments section: “How do you have haters?!?” one of them asked in amazement. “Sophie for President,” commented another user. “The funniest player on the court,” said another fan, “You’re the best and all that is true!” expressed another follower.

After being eliminated in Game 5 of the Playoff Semifinals against the Las Vegas Aces, the Fever are preparing for their 2026 season. However, only Caitlin, Aliyah Boston, and Makayla Timpson have contracts with the team for 2026, so Cunningham’s future in Indiana is uncertain as she is an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

This could mean that Cunningham could re-sign with the Fever, but she could also be selected and assigned in the double expansion draft for the Portland Fire and Toronto Tempo, according to IndyStar.

In 2024, existing teams were able to protect six players, and if that number remains the same, Sophie could be one of them. On social media, Sophie has shown that she wants to keep her place in Indiana, but the decision does not depend solely on her wishes. We will just have to wait and see if she continues her journey with the Fever.

Meanwhile, after her unfortunate injury, Sophie ended her first season with the Fever prematurely, averaging 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 30 games played.
