Sophie Cunningham and Caitlin Clark not only became great teammates on the Indiana Fever, but also great friends.

After spending six seasons with the Phoenix Mercury, the 29-year-old point guard joined the team where CC was already shining after her excellent rookie year. Together, they have caught the attention of fans and built a strong bond of trust between them, but there is one thing Sophie would not let Clark do with her social media.

Cunningham sets a limit for her teammate

Taking advantage of the WNBA offseason after an intense year, Sophie has turned her attention to projects off the court, such as recording her podcast with West Wilson, “Show Me Something,” and her recent partnership with Sun Cruiser.

However, the 29-year-old has also given several interviews. In one of them, with Front Office Sports, Cunningham was asked about her social media management, specifically which of her teammates she would not delegate this task to. And she didn’t hesitate:

Oh my, 1000% Caitlin Clark,” Sophie said. “She is a sh***t starter. She would definitely start some stuff over there.”

This season, the two Fever stars also stole the spotlight by being two of the five players injured for the rest of the Indiana Fever season. Sydney Colson, Aari McDonald, and Chloe Bibby completed the list.

CC suffered injuries to her quadriceps, ankle, and groin, leading her to play only 13 games this year. She averaged 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 8.8 assists, and 1.6 steals before having to leave the court.

Sophie, meanwhile, averaged 8.6 points, 1.2 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.0 steals before tearing the LCM in her right knee after 30 games with Indiana. In August, she had to undergo surgery, ending her first year with the team.

Despite these delicate absences, the team qualified for the playoffs for the second consecutive year and reached the semifinals, where they fell to the Las Vegas Aces in Game 5.

Meanwhile, while Clark has a contract with the Fever for next season, Cunningham will be a free agent once the trade period opens on February 1.

Only time will tell if we’ll see Sophie sharing the court with CC, but managing their social media? Never.
