San Diego Padres star Fernando Tatis Jr. had a dramatic moment on Friday in one of the Spring Training games between his team and the Texas Rangers, in a close game that ended up being close to becoming a tragedy at Peoria Stadium

In the bottom of the first inning, when the Padres were already trailing 2-0 and Tatis was at bat, the Dominican approached the plate and received a chilling blow to the head from a 95 mph fastball. Tatis lay on the plate and fans were shocked as the Padres’ medical staff attended to him.

Due to the shocking nature of the video, it went viral on social networks and some users considered that it was intentional

This is not the first time Tatis has been involved in such a situation, in fact on several occasions he has received strong blows because of the aggressiveness with which he attacks the plate. However, on this occasion, the medical report did not reveal any serious injury and he will only require a few days of rest before playing again

In 2024, Tatis hit 21 home runs and drove in 49 runs last year, being a leader for the Padres both offensively and defensively.
