The Toronto Blue Jays are closely following the situation in Cleveland, as became clear this Thursday when they used the Browns to poke fun at a play filled with multiple errors during a game.
And yes, this is related to Shedeur Sanders and the quarterback group heading into the next season, where it’s still unclear which player will take charge of leading the offense.
The Blue Jays’ post mocking Cleveland
In the top of the third inning, Tanner Bibee, attempting to pick off a runner at first base, made a poor throw, and the runner on third ended up scoring because the first baseman also failed to do his job.
“The search for a QB1 in Cleveland continues…” the Blue Jays captioned a video they posted highlighting the double error that allowed the run.
This ties in because, in the city of Cleveland today, the main topic is that the Browns still have four quarterbacks, but there are no clear hints about who will emerge as the starter for Week 1.
Many are impressed with the work Shedeur Sanders has put in during this offseason, though some believe the starting role will go to one of the two veterans, Joe Flacco or Kenny Pickett.
On the other hand, there’s Dillon Gabriel, another rookie who also arrived via the latest NFL Draft, but the truth is that nothing is set in stone yet.
It’s expected that a veteran quarterback will start at the beginning of the season, but at some point, another player like Shedeur Sanders could see playing time.
Everything could change if the results aren’t positive and don’t align with Kevin Stefanski‘s team. What’s certain is that, today, other teams are mocking the situation the Browns are going through.
