Rory McIlroy is chasing the elusive green jacket at the Masters Tournament, and he’s not doing it alone. By his side in Augusta is his wife, Erica Stoll, who has become his biggest supporter both on and off the course.

Family support fuels Rory McIlroy’s Masters push

As McIlroy makes another run at winning the Masters, Stoll is right there with him, along with their five-year-old daughter, Poppy. If the Northern Irishman finally claims the title this week, his family will be the first ones celebrating one of the biggest moments of his career.

McIlroy and Stoll’s story began in 2012 and led to marriage five years later at Ashford Castle in Ireland. They welcomed their daughter Poppy in 2020. In 2024, the couple hit a rough patch that led McIlroy to file for divorce, citing that the marriage was “irremediably broken.” However, just weeks later, they reconciled.

“There have been rumors about my personal life recently, which is unfortunate,” McIlroy told The Guardian. “Responding to each rumor is a fool’s game. Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realized that our best future was as a family together. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning.”

In 2025, McIlroy also appeared in the Full Swing and was candid about media attention: “There’s parts of my life that I like to keep as private as possible,” he said, adding, “Unfortunately, in this line of work, that isn’t always possible.”

True to that mindset, Stoll keeps an extremely low profile and stays away from the spotlight, even while supporting her husband during the most important moments of his career.

With McIlroy in strong form heading into this week’s Masters and the unwavering support of his family, he appears closer than ever to adding another historic chapter to his legacy.
