Ed Sheeran has a unique gift for stirring emotions with his melodies and lyrics. Now, the NFL has found a way to stir his own emotions on the gridiron-and surprisingly, his chosen team has nothing to do with his close friend Taylor Swift. In fact, it’s a team nobody saw coming.

This past Tuesday, Sheeran made the unexpected revelation on Kylie Kelce’s podcast Not Gonna Lie. That’s where the British singer shared that he is a fan of the Tennessee Titans.

I’m a Titans fan. I moved to Nashville for Taylor’s Red Tour in 2013 and I got a place there. I went to Walmart to buy bits to move in and I just bought some pajamas. And then when I got home, I was wearing pajamas. And when someone was around, they were like, ‘Oh, you’re a Titans fan?’ I was like, ‘Guess I am.’ Since then, Titans.

While his good friend Taylor Swift is-understandably-rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs, Sheeran has found his own football allegiance further south, placing his NFL loyalty squarely with the Titans.

Meanwhile, Taylor and Travis find peace in their relationship

After two years together, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift finally seem to have found stability. Following months in the public eye and relentless media attention, the couple now appears to have reached a calmer, more grounded stage in their relationship.

“They’re incredibly happy and in sync. There’s a calmness and ease to their relationship right now that’s been really grounding for Taylor and Travis,” a source shared.

It’s been two years since fans began to see it as “normal” to spot pop superstar Taylor Swift attending Kelce’s games regularly-especially those held at Arrowhead Stadium. Whether during regular season clashes or championship games, her reactions from the stands-cheering, gasping, celebrating-show she experiences every emotion just like any other football fan.

Her presence at NFL games also brought a wave of attention to the sport from fans around the globe. Many of them still don’t fully understand the intricacies of football, but they watch anyway, eager to catch a glimpse of Swift cheering in the stands, often shown multiple times during broadcasts-as she shares in the highs and lows of each game.

There has even been speculation that Swift could one day perform during the Super Bowl halftime show. For now, these remain nothing more than rumors, mostly circulated by her devoted fanbase.

For them, the ultimate dream would be to see the Chiefs reach the Super Bowl, with Taylor Swift performing on that grand stage. While it sounds like the perfect fairy tale ending, turning that into reality still feels like a distant prospect.
