The famous boxer Kell Brook confessed that the media-savvy Ebanie Bridges, ‘The Blonde Bomber’ of boxing, saved his life when he was “possessed by a demon”.
The former world champion Brook, who will fight Eisa Al Dah in February, recently claimed that his girlfriend Ebanie Bridges “saved his life” while he was battling his demons to “come out of the darkness”.
She has been through a lot in her own life battles, and has guided me to where I am today: clean, sober and living a beautiful life
The couple went public with their relationship earlier this year when they announced the birth of their first child, Ezerra Ray.
Due to the lifestyle he led, his addiction and mental health problems, there was a good chance he would end up like Ricky Hatton
“She’s been through a lot in her own life battles, and she’s guided me to where I am today: clean, sober and living a beautiful life. Today I have a purpose in life. I’m in God’s hands and I feel great. This is what it had to be… mentally I’m in the best place of my life,” Brook shared.
Ebanie Bridges: “I saw that he was possessed by that demon: addiction and depression. I was able to bring it to light”
Brook revealed last month that he had struggled for years with addiction and depression, and that Bridges has been instrumental in his recovery.
“It made me feel valued and it was really nice to hear, and for him to make it public,” Ebanie Bridges told Fox Sports Australia.
The media-savvy boxer admitted that “because of the lifestyle he led, his addiction and his mental health problems, there was a good chance he would end up like Ricky Hatton (the British boxing legend who was recently found dead at his home). When you take someone out of the darkness, free them from the clutches of addiction and help them build a new life, I guess you’re saving them.”
“I saw the person, the man he really is. I saw that he was possessed by that demon: addiction and depression. I could see what was underneath and I wanted to bring it out,” she said.
