Donna Kelce stands firm in her beliefs. As the mother of Jason and Travis Kelce prepares to make her reality TV debut, resurfaced social media posts have sparked questions about whether her political views will influence her role on The Traitors.

Peacock’s hit reality competition is set to return with a star-studded cast, including the mother of two NFL legends. The show, set in a Scottish castle, pits contestants against each other in a suspenseful game of deception, where hidden “traitors” secretly eliminate the “faithful” players one by one.

The faithful must identify and vote out the traitors each week. If they succeed, they split the prize, but if a traitor makes it to the finals, they take home the entire purse. With the season premiere just weeks away, Donna teased her participation on Instagram:

“Sundays were just the beginning-I raised two playmakers, but now it’s Mama’s turn.”

Donna Kelce holds her ground

Speculation is swirling about whether Donna’s outspoken nature will stir controversy in the reality show’s cutthroat environment. Recently, The Spun unearthed an old post in which Mama Kelce defended the polarizing Paris 2024 Olympic opening ceremony, which drew backlash from conservative audiences.

“The scene was a portrayal of a Greek Dionysus Feast celebration,” Donna explained on Facebook. She elaborated that Dionysus-also known as Bacchus-is the Olympian god of festivities, wine, and ritual.

But she didn’t stop there. Taking direct aim at critics, she urged, “The French are known for their theatrics. The historical context and education surrounding the Olympics and its origins are important here. Many of you fell for the controversy in spun-up click-bait. Stop mindlessly sharing posts and do some research.”

The Kelces: A family of conviction

Despite backlash, Donna never walked back her words or apologized for defending her stance. While Travis and Jason Kelce tend to keep their personal views more private, their career choices suggest progressive leanings-just like their mother.

The upcoming season of The Traitors is sure to deliver surprises. While Donna’s straightforward approach makes it hard to envision her as a “traitor,” but as we all know, reality TV is often anything but real.
