US President Donald Trump reacted to Venezuela’s victory over Italy in the World Baseball Classic semifinals, ironically suggesting that the Latin American country could become the “51st state”.

After overcoming Italy, Venezuela will face the United States in the final of the World Baseball Classic, a game that will be played at LoanDepot Park in Miami.
On March 5, the US State Department announced that it had agreed with the interim authorities in Venezuela to “restore diplomatic and consular relations”, two months after the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro in an operation ordered by Trump.
