According to sources close to the team, the Dodgers will announce Thursday their plans to help migrant communities recently affected in Los Angeles by ICE raids, defying policies established by President Donald Trump.

The announcement would mark the Dodgers’ first public comment on the unrest in the city since federal immigration agents began raids in the area almost two weeks ago.

The plan would be aimed at providing all necessary support to migrant communities in Los Angeles, especially in response to recent raids by immigration agents known as ICE.

It will likely include collaborations with local organizations, legal resources, community events or symbolic actions of solidarity.

At first, the Dodgers had refused to make any public statement, however, their silence divided a part of their fans, which generated in recent days a growing demand on social networks for the team to take action on what is happening in the city before the policies implemented by President Donald Trump.

Manager Dave Roberts expressed that he hopes that with their performances the team will be a positive distraction, taking into account the social context that is being experienced in Los Angeles.
