In an unbelievable feat, Dmitry Bivol took the win over Artur Beterbiev to become the 175-pound king. However, one former boxer knows who could wipe the smile off the Russian’s face, who holds four titles: WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO.

Oscar De La Hoya has his favorite and puts all his confidence in the 2-time WBC Super Middleweight Champion and current WBC World Light Heavyweight Champion. Of course, his candidate is David Benavidez.

This is how the current promoter expressed it in dialogue with Fight Hub TV:

I would go with Benavidez because he is more active and throws more punches and has better footwork than Beterbiev. He’s smarter up there and knows how to think and how to adjust. I would go with Benavidez.

At twenty-eight years of age, David is much younger than Bivol, and his agility and intelligence are determining factors for De La Hoya and those who share his prognosis.

Benavidez vs. Bivol?

This fight has already happened, but not in the ring. After the Russian boxer gave up the belt to prepare for his third fight with Beterbiev, the WBC named “The Monster” as the light heavyweight champion of the world without even having to take a punch to get it.

With this in mind, do you confirm that De La Hoya is right or do you think Bivol would win?
