Negotiations for a rematch between Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney seem to be at a standstill as they cannot agree on the conditions demanded by each side. While KingRy demands that the legal action against him be dropped, the other side makes it a condition that he undergoes 24-hour VADA testing.

Ryan Garcia has refused and in his arguments is the lack of confidence in the anti-doping agency: “I’m clean, but I will never use that organization again,” while Devin Haney replied in a statement to the media during an open workout that if KingRy would have to undergo random testing and if he really wants to fight him “should enroll in the VADA 24/7 program to prove he is a clean athlete and then return to boxing.”

For Haney, it’s clear that Garcia doesn’t want to accept VADA random testing because he wouldn’t be able to cheat and take drugs without being caught: “Ryan doesn’t want to be tested 365 days a year… because he thinks he’s going to do drugs and then he’ll have enough time to stop taking them.”

Devin Haney accuses Ryan Garcia of lying

Even Haney went further in his suspicions and questioned “why doesn’t he agree to voluntarily undergo drug testing by VADA or another reputable organization?”, as, in his view, if he has nothing to hide and is confident that he is clean, periodic testing from the time the deal is closed until the day of the fight would ensure transparency and fairness, so by refusing, Haney‘s team believes that KingRy is lying and does not want the fight.

“He’s telling lies, he doesn’t want to fight and he’s just talking. Ryan Garcia, that’s a fight we know we want to make, but Ryan Garcia doesn’t want to make the fight,” Devin Haney told iFL TV.
