Deion Sanders reveals the Colorado BuffaloesShedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter could skip the 2025 NFL Draft ceremony because they want to watch the moment they officially make it together.

Despite being tipped as first-round picks, with Heisman-winning Hunter likely to be the overall first pick, it seems as though they might dodge the night in Green Bay, Wisconsin, in April entirely.

Based on Coach Prime’s comments, the 21-year-old wide receiver/cornerback and 22-year-old quarterback will remain firmly planted in Boulder to enjoy their selection into the NFL with the people who helped make it happen.

“No, you won’t see it. You won’t see us,” Sanders told The Rich Eisman Show. “We good man. We want to celebrate with our people, with our folks, with our wonderful student body.”

For what it’s worth, the Sanders and Hunter will not be the first people to skip going to the draft despite knowing their spot in the NFL is all but secured. The Minnesota VikingsJJ McCarthy didn’t attend in 2024 despite being picked 10th.

Likewise with Brock Bowers, who has scored four touchdowns for the Las Vegas Raiders. He didn’t attend 89th ceremony in Detroit either. He was picked 13th overall, despite being a two-time national champion.

When is the 2025 NFL Draft?

But there’s still a few months between now and the 2025 NFL Draft from April 24-26 so it’s possible for both the Sanders‘ and Hunter to change their minds and head to Wisconsin with their families.

The draft will take place at Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers, and will see the players meet the NFL commissioner, Roger Goddell, to receive a hat and a jersey. Along with Hunter and Sanders, Ashton Jeanty and Cam Ward are tipped to compete for the overall first pick.
