Shedeur Sanders hasn’t thrown a pass in the NFL yet, but his presence is already making waves-and his dad, Coach Prime, is leading the cheers. As Shedeur stepped into the Cleveland Browns facility for rookie minicamp, the cameras caught more than just his smile-they caught a changing of the guard and maybe the beginning of a new QB legacy in Cleveland.

The Browns shared a video Thursday showing their fifth-round pick, former Colorado star Shedeur Sanders, getting his first look at his locker. From his custom Nike Air DT Max ’96 kicks to his fresh orange No. 12 practice jersey, Shedeur couldn’t stop grinning. “I got everything I need to be successful,” he said, looking fully at home.

Watching from afar, Deion Sanders didn’t hold back. The Hall of Famer and Colorado head coach posted on Instagram: “God is faithful! I know for a fact that smile is Genuine! Let’s go #2-I mean #12,” dropping a string of laughing emojis to celebrate the moment.

A tale of two jerseys

The jersey swap wasn’t his choice-Shedeur’s iconic No. 2 was already taken by wide receiver DeAndre Carter. But No. 12? That’s a number made famous by Tom Brady.

A quiet message or just a coincidence? Either way, it fits the quarterback who threw for over 7,000 yards and more than 60 touchdowns while carrying Colorado on his shoulders-and getting sacked more than just about anyone in the nation. Through it all, he kept coming back, kept slinging it.

Colorado retired his jersey while he was still active-a nearly unheard-of move that speaks volumes about what he meant to the program. Now, he’s aiming to carve out his name in Cleveland, starting at the rookie minicamp which kicked off Friday, May 9.

The novices took Berea by storm

Alongside Shedeur in Berea are other Browns rookies like Quinshon Judkins, Dillon Gabriel, Mason Graham, and Dylan Sampson. But make no mistake-Shedeur Sanders is the face to watch. And with Dad watching from afar, one thing’s clear: this is just the beginning.

Want to see if Shedeur’s got that Brady magic in him? The Browns are about to find out.
