David Benavidez will face David Morrell at the T-Mobile Arena on Saturday, February 1, in a battle of unbeatens for the WBC interim light heavyweight championship.

Benavidez is motivated for this fight to add his 25th knockout to silence his rival, who has not tired of pointing out the flaws of the ‘Mexican Monster’.

“I’m very excited to get in there and get my hands on David Morrell. He’s been talking a lot. So there’s no more talking. And I’m very excited to get in there and break his face!” Benavidez told TMZ Sports.

Benavidez (29-0, 24 KOs) is the interim WBC super middleweight champion and will look to take Morrell’s (11-0, 9 KOs) regular WBA world title.

Morrell questioned David Benavidez‘s nickname as he did not understand the reason why he is called ‘Monster’ and promised a resounding victory.

“I don’t know why people say he’s ‘the monster,'” Morrell told Gloves Off, adding: “Boom, he’s falling 100 percent. I promise I’ll knock him out.”
