David Benavidez does not stop talking about Canelo Alvarez when he is a week away from facing David Morrell (11-0) ahead of his title shot in the light heavyweight division.

The so-called Mexican Monster no longer wanted to wait for his opportunity with Saul Alvarez (62-2-2) at 168 pounds and moved up to 175 to challenge Artur Beterbiev (21-0) or Dmitry Bivol (23-1), depending on who wins on February 22 in the rematch in Saudi Arabia.

David Benavidez seeks glory against Canelo Alvarez

While Canelo has refused to fight Benavidez (29-0), Red Flag wants the glory against the Guadalajara boxer, not a large sum of money.

“I’m a little tired, although the only thing I hear isBenavidez-Caneloand hearing that they put my name next to the biggest fighter in the world gives me motivation and I know what it takes to get up there, I’m motivated and the fight is getting closer and closer.”

I told him yes (to fight for $5 million) because in this fight I’m not looking at the money, but the glory, after I beat Canelo, everything comes. They saw that I don’t fight for money but for glory and that’s why they know it will be a super difficult fight

“The reason why that fight hasn’t happened is because Canelo doesn’t want it. I don’t want to disrespect him but the truth is, he’s afraid.I’m ready, I’m ranked number one and people want to see the fight, what are we waiting for?” he told ESPN.

Benavidez challenges Canelo Alvarez to ‘make’ the money

Saul Alvarez has asked for $200 million to accept the fight against Benavidez, who remembers that he has been offered good sums of money that Canelo could grow for his pockets.

“They told him they were going to pay him 60 million before PPV… imagine how much money he’s going to make and I’m telling him he’s afraid of me and I can beat him. Why doesn’t he come and shut me up and make 100 million?” said the Mexican Monster.
