There’s no doubt that one of the most exciting games of NFL Week 8 will be the New York Giants visiting the Philadelphia Eagles next Sunday. A couple of weeks ago, on Thursday Night Football, the Giants surprised everyone with a dominant performance against the Eagles, led by rookies Jaxson Dart and Cam Skateebo.
The rivalry between the Eagles and Giants is one of the biggest in the NFL, and for a long time, Philadelphia has dominated it decisively. The Giants haven’t won at Lincoln Financial Field since 2013-almost 12 years ago. Back then, the Eagles’ quarterback was Matt Barkley.
Now, Giants fans are dreaming of sweeping the Eagles this season after already securing one win in the previous matchup. The situation is tricky, though: the Giants are coming off a historic comeback loss against the Denver Broncos, while the Eagles defeated the Vikings with an impressive aerial performance by Jalen Hurts.
Darius Slayton knows the Eagles’ stadium is a hostile environment
For this game, Jaxson Dart will once again have an important weapon in Darius Slayton, the Giants’ veteran receiver who suffered a hamstring injury in Week 5 against the New Orleans Saints. With Slayton back, Dart has a solid deep passing option.
The Giants receiver knows how tough it is to play in Philadelphia, but they’ll still aim to beat the Eagles in their home stadium for the first time since 2013:
“I think, obviously, we played a pretty good, solid game against them a few weeks ago. Obviously, we’re going to try to go out there and replicate that again,” Slayton said. “Whether it’s home or away, it’s kind of irrelevant. You want to go out there and play a sound football game, but obviously, it would be great to beat them at their place.”
Slayton has been with the Giants since 2019. Despite being a fifth-round pick, he gradually earned the fans’ respect, although 2025 has raised some questions. In five games, he has just 12 receptions for 166 yards, so he needs to perform to help Jaxson Dart.
Even though the Giants beat the Eagles a couple of weeks ago, the betting lines still don’t trust them, and they are 7.5-point underdogs against Nick Sirianni’s team.
