The rift between Conor McGregor and Dana White may not be that deep. The UFC boss has not commented on the alleged fight between the Irish fighter and Logan Paul, but former fighter and analyst Brendan Schaub speculated that White could be on board for this fight from the start.

In mid-December, McGregor took to social media to announce that he would return to the ring to face former boxer and WWE star Logan Paul. Although he did not give any further details, the former UFC champion assured that the fight was a done deal, and it was later revealed that it could take place in April 2025.

McGregor announced the fight amid the aftermath of the ruling against him by the High Court in Dublin in the rape and assault case against Nikita Hand. According to Schaub, this ruling would be one of the reasons why White has not vetoed the fight between McGregor and Paul.

Does White agree with McGregor vs. Logan?

Speaking on his podcast “The Fighter and the Kid,” Schaub speculated, “The UFC is going to be heavily involved on the Conor side. They have to be. Just like the Mayweather fight.” This last comment was about the fight between “The Notorious”McGregor and “Money” Mayweather in 2017.

Schaub assured that the fight against Paul would make people forget the ruling against McGregor, paving the way for his return to the UFC.

“For the UFC, Conor’s coming from all those allegations, lost in the civil court; it’s damaged goods right now. Nothing makes all that go away for a fighter like announcing you have a fight.”

He recalled that after fighting Paul, McGregor would still have two fights left on his contract with White. “So UFC is going, ‘Go do that, have people forget about all this bullsh*t and you still owe us two more fights.’ So like, ‘Go take the hit over there, let them all go away and you’ll fight here [by the] end of next year.'”

Conor vs. Logan may never happen

Other analysts, on the other hand, believe that White’s silence regarding this fight is because it will never happen. Paul has not confirmed the fight and, on the contrary, has already assured that he will focus on his career in the WWE.

“No more side hustle, no more bullsh*t. 100 hundred percent WWE,” said Paul during the debut of RAW on Netflix, dealing a hard blow to the possibility of his fight against McGregor. Paul has a lot to lose and very little to gain in a hypothetical fight with McGregor, if the fight does not happen, the only loser would be The Notorious.
