Just a year after Damian Lillard suffered an Achilles strain against the Pacers during Game 3 of the series, he once again experienced a serious fall, suspecting a recurrence of that injury. This incident occurred during Game 4 against the Pacers in the 2025 NBA playoffs.

It’s not new that the chemistry between Lillard and the Bucks isn’t the best, but leaving a teammate on the floor who has sustained an injury is unacceptable. I can’t believe how this player, who has starred in huge NBA moments, was only able to play six minutes in a playoff game.

The only teammate who seemed concerned for him was NBA champion Brook Lopez. The Bucks lost the game, and morale is low. Even with Milwaukee star Giannis Antetokounmpo scoring 28 points, the Pacers were clearly the better team last night and throughout the series.

It’s a shame that Lillard joined a project with the aim of winning an NBA championship, but injuries have hindered his performance, and he deserves better. He could become one of those great basketball talents who never won a championship, and at 34 years old, he may not return to form after an Achilles injury.

Lillard is the Portland Trail Blazers’ all-time leading scorer, having spent 12 seasons (2012-2023) with the team without ever winning a championship. He often played alone on a losing team.

The 2022 NBA champions, the Bucks, quickly dismantled their big three. Giannis has been on his own for a couple of years; Jrue Holiday left for the Celtics, where he won another championship, and Khris Middleton moved to the Pistons before heading to the Wizards. This has led the team to rebuild for the future of the franchise.

As a huge fan of Lillard, I sincerely hope his injury is minor and that he can enjoy his remaining years in top shape. Because, as NBA fans, we want to see him succeed, and he truly deserves it.
