The NFL preseason is over and all that remains is for the regular season to get underway, with the 32 teams set to trim their rosters. However, Aaron Rodgers is not worried about this situation, as he has already shown that he is in great shape to play all 17 games as a starter. But for Fantasy Football fans, this could be an enigma in their weekly decisions

It is well known that the injury bug haunts the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback. However, Mike Tomlin has emphasized that they have bolstered the offensive line to provide greater protection for Aaron Rodgers when passing plays are required. This is a plus for Fantasy members to choose him from the early weeks, betting on the good health he is going through, but his 40 years of age may weigh on him as the season progresses.

The numbers Aaron Rodgers left with the New York Jets

The good news for Rodgers in his final season with the Jets is that he outscored players like CJ Stroud and Matthew Stafford in Fantasy Football points per game. The bad news is that he was only the QB23 in that regard. The numbers weren’t bad at all (3897-28-11); in fact, if most quarterbacks had those stats, they would have some respect for their name. The problem was that he didn’t live up to what we’ve seen from Rodgers.

What has changed: Rodgers is now a member of the Steelers, where he will throw quality balls to his new wide receiver, DK Metcalf. The addition of Jonnu Smith also helps, but after that, Rodgers doesn’t have much proven talent in terms of receivers.

What is the outlook for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2025?

With the way the Pittsburgh Steelers want to play football, Rodgers’ numbers could be similar to what we saw in 2024. He will be in a better football environment, but 40-touchdown seasons for the future Hall of Famer seem to be a thing of the past. However, most of the game is likely to be running plays and sporadically a couple of bombs, as we are used to.

Kickoff for the black and yellow will begin on the road on Sunday, September 7 when they arrive at MetLife Stadium to face the New York Jets, coincidentally the last stadium where Aaron Rodgers played an official NFL game before injuring himself 20 seconds into the 2023 season, but then played 17 more in the 2024 season. Their first home game will be on the 14th of the same month when they host the Seattle Seahawks.
