It is no secret that the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world is the historic Mexican, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, so it is striking what was mentioned by the controversial journalist David Faitelson, who considers that he is not among the best pugilists in the world.

This comes after the controversy surrounding Canelo Alvarez’s next opponent, so Faitelson has once again been a harsh critic of his career and more so because now, with only a few years left before retirement, it is expected that he can fill the first objective that has been set thinking always to improve and demonstrate his talent.

David Faitelson’s reasons for criticizing Canelo Alvarez again

This arises due to the controversy that has to do with William Scull, the character who will get into the ring against Canelo Alvarez soon, as well as taking for granted that the most dangerous fights would no longer be contemplated for his career.

“You are never going to see that fight, I’m not crazy either. He’s a boxer, a very strong guy. The issue with Canelo is that he is full of flatterers, those from TV Azteca flatter him, those from Televisa too because those people work for his industry, they become defenders of his sport. How many critics does Canelo have? In the people it may be that many, but tell me a journalist or former boxer who criticizes Canelo,” Faitelson responded.

How many more years will Canelo Alvarez remain active?

In addition to this, at 34 years of age, Saul Alvarez himself acknowledged in an interview with legendary former soccer player Hugo Sanchez that he plans to continue putting on the gloves for at least another three or four years.

“From 28-29 years old, at this age is where I felt best. I have always said that at 37 years old is a good age to enjoy what I have done with my family, other things in my career and that’s what I say; but I said I would debut at 18 and I did at 15,” said Canelo Alvarez.

Canelo Alvarez wants to fight at the Estadio Azteca before retiring

But before thinking about leaving, Canelo warned that first he wants to organize a fight in the largest sports venue in Mexico, the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, which could be finalized with TKO in the future.

“Yes, I’m interested in fighting at the Estadio Azteca. I would love to have a fight before I retire at the Azteca,” commented Canelo Alvarez on the last moments he plans for his successful sporting career.
