The World Cup is approaching and one of the main candidates to win the tournament is the Argentina national team. With the 2022 World Cup in their trophy cabinet, the Albiceleste want to go for glory, however, there could be conflicts within the squad with some players.
The atmosphere in Argentina is not the best and recently, a well-known journalist dropped a “bombshell” saying that Angel Di Maria would not be happy with Scaloni, as he does not have a high regard for football in his country.
Argentine journalist accuses bad relationship between Di Maria and Scaloni
Flavio Azzaro is an Argentine journalist known for being controversial and throwing out information that can cause conflict. Through the program El Tribunero, the communicator explained that there would be a conflict between Angel Di Maria and Lionel Scaloni, coach of the national team.
The reasons for the conflict, according to Azzaro, would be because Di Maria does want to return to the national team and made it clear when he launched a hint about the option of returning to the world champion team.
Di Maria is at odds with Scaloni. I don’t think the other day’s comments were a good-natured dig. He expected to be called up because of his good level in Argentine football
A few days ago, Di Maria was asked about a possible call-up and he replied with a laugh: “It seems that Scaloni does not watch the Argentine league much”, this response is what according to Azzaaro, shows that the player is upset.
Argentina and their friendlies to prepare for the World Cup
After the Finalissima was canceled, Argentina had to move quickly to take advantage of the FIFA date and secure two friendly matches for Scaloni’s side.
Argentina will play two friendly matches: the first against Mauritania tomorrow, March 27 and then on the 31st of the same month against Zambia.
Beyond the controversies, Scaloni is convinced of his work and hopes to arrive in the best possible way to a World Cup that will be special, because it would be the last for Lionel Messi.
