Drama has been ongoing between Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James and ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith, and now UFC fighter Colby Covington has weighed in.

A stern-looking discussion was captured recently between LeBron and Smith courtside, with fans trying to work out what LeBron was saying. The general consensus is that LeBron wanted Smith to leave Bronny James,LeBron‘s son, out of the ongoing criticism.

According to Smith, LeBron was angry about Bronny being criticized on First Take.

“That was LeBron James coming up to me, unexpectedly, I might add, to confront me about making sure I mind what I say about his son. That wasn’t a basketball player confronting me, that was a parent, that was a father. I can’t sit here and be angry or feel slighted by LeBron James in that regard.

“By all accounts, he’s obviously a wonderful family man and father who cares very, very deeply about his son, and based on some of the comments he had heard or shall I say I think he thought he heard, clearly took exception to some of the things he heard me say, and he confronted me about it.”

Covington not impressed with LeBron

Covington has since been asked about the altercation and he has firmly come down on the side of Smith, saying: “It’s America, freedom of speech, f’n LeBron. Do you not realize we have constitutional amendments for a reason.

“F-k LeBron James you b-h ass motherf–r. Come see a real ass motherf–g OG and get your ass knocked the f-k out without your private security”

It is unclear as to why Covington was even asked about the topic given his career does not overlap with LeBron‘s, but he clearly wants to make an enemy of the NBA legend.
