Coco Gauff and Angel Reese seem set to bring a new wave of attention to the WNBA and the WTA Tour after the young women partnered up at a recent basketball game to start their own union, dubbed courtside baddies.

The 22-year-old Reese was on court in the Unrivaled League as she competed for Rose BC against Vinyl BC and impressed in the opening 13 minutes of the game, before being ejected on technical grounds.

Yet it was her appearance at another game that has everyone talking as she seemed to make an impression on the 20-year-old tennis star; who is ranked third in the world, and was the winner of the 2023 US Open.

As they watched Napheesa Collier‘s Lunar Owls BC clash with Laces BC on January 31, they took their partnership online after posing for a photo as Reese wore grey sweatpants and black hoodie, whilst the tennis sensation rocked a denim outfit.

“Courtside baddies @angelreese,” Gauff said in an Instagram post of the pair relaxing to watch the game, seeming very friendly with each other. Reese then responded in kind by reposting the photo with her own caption, “The QUEEN.”

The tennis player, who cites the Williams sisters as inspirations, also took the time to mingle with Breanna Stewart and Collier in what is a big marketing moment for the two basketballer’s business venture.

She also stopped to hang out with Sabrina Ionescu, Dearica Hamby and Jackie Young on the night.

When is Coco Gauff next competing in a slam?

Coco Gauff kicked off the 2025 tennis calendar with a disappointing exit from the Australian Open in the quarterfinals on January 21, coming up short against Spain’s Paula Badosa 7-5, 6-4 at the Rod Laver Arena.

The competition was eventually won by the USA’s Madison Keys after she stunned Belarus’ Aryna Sabalenka in three sets to claim her first ever Grand Slam title on January 25.

Gauff will now need to wait until the French Open from May 19 to June 8 to claim her next Grand Slam title. She enters the competition as a defending mixed doubles winner after winning alongside Katerina Siniakova.
