An awkward mix-up almost cost Chloe Kim her future relationship with Myles Garrett. She once mistook the NFL star for a DJ, turning a first encounter into a comedy of errors.
The Winter Olympics star recalled attending a Cleveland Browns game with a friend, completely unaware she was there to see Garrett.
“I’m not a football fan,” Kim said to Jimmy Kimmel Live, as she confessed she had no clue who was actually playing that night.
Kim explained her friend had said, “our client’s playing,” but she misheard it as “Martin Garrix,” the internationally known Martin Garrix.
Expecting an EDM concert, she cheered in the stands, scanning for a stage, fully confused by the on-field action unfolding before her eyes.
Meanwhile, Garrett was dominating on the field, making plays that would impress any football fan. Kim, however, kept watching for a DJ to appear, and admitted she even thought the “performer” was “wack” for not showing up.
Only later did she realize the entire event revolved around Garrett‘s football performance. Eventually, the misunderstanding cleared, and Kim and Garrett met properly through mutual friends.
Their connection quickly grew, and Garrett went on to support Kim at the Olympics, showing he could be both a partner and a devoted fan – although he is banned from snowboarding as part of his NFL contract.

Off the field, Garrett‘s career continues to generate headlines. Some analysts have suggested a blockbuster trade could send him to the Detroit Lions, instantly transforming their defense into one of the league’s most feared units.
Garrett‘s production underscores his value. Last season, he set the single-season sack record with 23, but the Browns finished 5-12, illustrating that elite individual performance doesn’t always translate into team success.
And now the former executive, Mike Tannenbaum, proposed on the Get Up podcast that Cleveland might consider trading Garrett to jump-start a rebuild, potentially acquiring wide receiver Jameson Williams along with multiple first-round draft picks.
Detroit would gain an immediate boost, pairing Garrett with Aidan Hutchinson to form a terrifying pass-rushing duo and Cleveland would be able to continue to build for the future.
Cleveland has made no public move to trade its franchise cornerstone, especially after a four-year, $160 million extension.
