Although they’re not technically “America’s Team” – that title still belongs to the Dallas Cowboys – the Kansas City Chiefs are always the talk of the town in the NFL. Not even the Philadelphia Eagles, who just won the Super Bowl, can say the same. It comes with the territory of sustained success, having Patrick Mahomes as the face of the franchise, and Travis Kelce dating Taylor Swift.
There are plenty of perks that comes with being a member of the Chiefs. You get to be part of a winning organization with an established, elite culture and mentality. The coaching staff maximizes players’ talents, which leads to bigger paydays in the future. There’s also way more national exposure, which means lesser-known players become bigger names around the country, due to more media coverage and more of the Chiefs’ games being televised than other teams. But could that be a con in reality?
Chiefs set to play on both Thanksgiving and Christmas in 2025
With the NFL schedule trickling in, high-profile primetime games are the first to be revealed. The Chiefs-Cowboys matchup on Thanksgiving is the biggest talking point. Kansas City will also play a game on Christmas Day, for the second year in a row. That has some fans wondering if Chiefs players might be a little tired of not being able to spend those holidays with their families.
A job is a job, and playing on those days will certainly be a special occasion. But add in that the Chiefs will also have plenty of primetime games on Sunday and Monday night, plus more playoff appearances most likely, and it’s fair to wonder if players get tired of it every now and then.
