Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has already been a tremendous success in Kansas City, leading the team to three Super Bowl titles and five AFC titles.

However, this season, things have not gone as expected, and far from their usual dominance (2-3), they will be looking for a new victory on Sunday the 12th when they face the Detroit Lions (4-1). However, Mahomes will not only be fighting for a win.

Mahomes is surpassed by Jared Goff

Last season, Patrick led the Chiefs to a 17-3 record, guided the team to another conference title, and reached the Super Bowl Final, where they fell to the Philadelphia Eagles.

However, Lions QB Jared Goff has been improving his game and, with 75.2% of his passes completed, currently leads all quarterbacks in completion percentage according to Statmuse.

Mahomes, on the other hand, has a 63.4% completion rate, just over 10 points below Goff, revealing a surprising gap between the quarterbacks.

In addition, Jared has completed 109 of 145 attempts for 1,187 yards and 12 touchdowns, although it is his 8.2 yards per attempt that clearly demonstrate his accuracy and efficiency.

Meanwhile, despite the two-time MVP throwing for 1,257 yards and eight touchdowns on 183 attempts, he also trails Goff in yards per attempt, with 6.9. Both have two interceptions.

However, while this statistic may be harsh, it does not negate the aggressiveness of Mahomes, who is currently one of the most feared QBs in the league.

Meanwhile, another loss could continue to increase the numbers in Jared’s favor and would not help the Chiefs, who come into this game reeling after falling 31-28 to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 5.

With the clear goal of returning to the Super Bowl for the fourth consecutive season, the Chiefs will look to defeat the Lions at Arrowhead Stadium.
