After a tough 13-27 season, the Chicago Sky are taking a fresh approach to the 2025 campaign, making several offseason moves aimed at surrounding rising star Angel Reese with a stronger supporting cast.

With a revamped front office and renewed sense of purpose, the team is eyeing both veteran leadership and untapped potential to elevate their performance.

Angel Reese gets backup in Chicago

Reese, who averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game in her debut season, quickly established herself as a cornerstone of the franchise.

Finishing second in Rookie of the Year voting behind Caitlin Clark, her presence has ignited interest and optimism among fans, and the front office is responding accordingly.

In addition to drafting Ajsa Sivka, Hailey Van Lith, Maddy Westbeld, and Aicha Coulibaly earlier this week, the Sky also extended training camp contracts to undrafted guards Sammie Puisis and Tilly Boler.

Both players bring proven three-point shooting to the table, potentially filling a key need for spacing and scoring around Reese in the frontcourt.

Puisis, a 6-foot-1 guard from South Florida, shot 39% from beyond the arc during her final collegiate season while averaging 15.5 points.

A two-time AAC First Team selection, she finished third in South Florida’s history for three-pointers made in just two seasons.

Her consistent long-range shooting could help stretch opposing defenses and open the paint for Reese to operate.

Boler, also 6-foot-1, wrapped up her college career at Memphis with a standout season, averaging 16.6 points and hitting 37% of her threes.

Boler made a name for herself as a dynamic scorer and earned First Team All-AAC honors, the first Memphis player to do so in a decade.

Boler expressed excitement about the opportunity, calling her shot at the pros “a dream come true.”

While the terms of the camp deals were not disclosed, both players will have a chance to earn a spot as the Sky finalize their roster during training camp, which begins April 27.

Chicago opens the season May 17 on the road against the Indiana Fever, in what promises to be a high-profile showdown between Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark.
